Submit Your Media Project
Getting Started
In order to access the GFEM Media Database for the first time, you will need to create an account. If you are a returning user, you may login to update an existing project or add a new project to your existing profile.
You will need to gather the following items in order to submit your project to the database:
- Project contact information
- Key personnel - up to three people with titles and bios
- Project description - a two line description and a longer synopsis of not more than 1500 words
- Budget funds raised to date and an estimate of funds still needed
- Detailed information on pledged funders - list of funders with amounts and dates
- Multimedia elements if applicable – weblinks, video links, audio links, photo files
Submit a Content Project - Projects designed for film or electronic media platforms: television, radio, theaters, web sites, mobile content, installations and more.
Submit a Policy Project - Projects that focus on addressing media policy issues. Projects within this category may focus on issues such as advocacy, education, government policy and access.
Submit an Infrastructure Project - Projects related to deploying or reinforcing the infrastructure required to bring media to audiences. Projects in this area have to do with innovation, development, training, capacity building and support of small or large-scale information delivery and telecommunications systems. This can include community-based media arts centers, PEG access centers, public or community radio and television stations, mobile, satellite, or other systems.
Eligibility
Projects submitted for consideration must already have at least one foundation grant or support from at least one government funder (local, state, or federal).
Projects are not limited by subject, location or scope. Content Projects must have a significant film, video, audio or electronic media element in their final delivery to be considered for inclusion. Please note that your profile in the GFEM Media Database does not constitute a grant proposal. GFEM is not a grantmaking organization, nor can we give fundraising advice.
